Walking in Love - Light Ministry to the Nations
Walking in
Love
" And now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but
the greatest of them is love "
I Corinthians 13:13
According to the verse, we have just read, love is greater
than faith and greater than hope.
Love is greater because without love our faith cannot work,
it can not bear fruit.
" For in Yeshua HaMashiach neither circumcision nor
uncircumcision means anything, but faith that works out of love "
Galatians 5: 6
Faith works by love. We could say that love activates faith
and makes our hopes materialize.
If our faith does not produce fruit, our faith is a dead
faith.
" So also faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
. . But are you willing to admit, oh vain man, that faith without works is
sterile?. For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith
without works is dead "
James 2:17, 20, 26
If we do not walk in love, our faith will not work, there
will be no fruit, we will have a sterile faith, a dead faith.
" For in Yeshua HaMashiach neither circumcision nor
uncircumcision means anything, but faith that works out of love "
Galatians 5: 6
The Bible says in I Corinthians 13 that:
- If we speak in tongues and we do not have love we are like
" metal that resonates, or cymbal that retires ".
- If we prophesy and have a lot of faith, but we do not have
love, " we are nothing ".
- If we do good deeds (distribute goods, martyrdom) and we do
not have love, "it 's useless ".
In John 13:35 we can read:
" By this, all will know that you are my disciples if
you have the love for one another "
The world will NOT know that we are the disciples of Yeshua.
. .
. . . for what we do
. . . for what we believe
. . . for what we say
. . . for going to church
The world will know that we are true disciples of Yeshua
because we have the love for one another.
Love is a sign that we are the disciples of Yeshua and that
we have passed from death to life.
" We know that we have passed from death to life because
we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death "
I John 3:14
The love of the brothers is a sign that we have been born
again, that we have passed from death to life and that we really know God. He
who does not love his brother remains in death because he has not been born
again.
Yeshua gave us a new commandment:
" A new commandment I give you: that you love one another;
for as I have loved you, so also you love one another "
John 13:34
When we fulfill this new commandment, we fulfill the whole
Law. This we can see in Galatians 5:14, let's see:
" For the whole law in one word is fulfilled in the
precept: YOU WILL LOVE YOUR PROJIMO AS YOURSELF "
" Owe no one anything, but love one another; for he who
loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. Because of this: DO NOT COMMIT
ADULTERY, YOU WILL NOT KILL, YOU WILL NOT HURT, YOU WILL NOT CODE, and any
other commandment, in these words it is summarized: YOU WILL LOVE YOUR PROJIMO
AS YOURSELF. Love does not harm our neighbor; therefore, love is the
fulfillment of the law "
Obviously, if we love our neighbor:
- We are NOT going to steal
- We are NOT going to kill him
- We are NOT going to lie
- We will NOT do any harm
That is why the Bible says that he who loves his neighbor has
fulfilled the Law. When we walk in love, we are fulfilling the Law.
Is it possible to love our enemies? The answer is YES because
when God tells us to do something, HE enables us to carry it out.
We must allow God's love to control and guide our lives.
" Because the love of the Messiah constrains us..."
II Corinthians 5: 14a (King James Version 1969)
Other versions say like this:
"Because the love of the Messiah drives us... "
"The love of the Messiah dominates our lives..."
We must pray that his love drives us, dominates us, controls
us, constrains us. . . The spirit that God has given us is not fear or
cowardice, it is a spirit of love.
" For God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of
power, of love, and of self-control "
II Timothy 1: 7
When we walk in love, we are walking in the light, If we want
to walk in the light we have to walk in love.
" He who says that he is in the light, and hates his
brother, is still in darkness. He who loves his brother remains in the light
and there is no cause of stumbling in him
"
I John 2: 9 and 10
If we do not walk in love, we are walking in darkness and if
we walk in darkness, sooner or later, we will stumble and fall. If we walk in
love we will be freed from many afflictions.
Our love can grow, it can mature because love is a fruit of
the Spirit.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love. "
Galatians 5: 22a
If we want to grow in love we must be connected to the Vine,
we must be connected to Yeshua. The love of our neighbor is the fruit of our
love for God, that is why the Bible tells us that if we do not love our
neighbor, we do not love God. The love of God is reflected in the love we show
to others.
" If anyone says: I love God, and he hates his brother,
he is a liar. For he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he
love God whom he has not seen? And we have this commandment from him: He who
loves God, love also his brother "
I John 4:20 and 21
If we spend good times with God, if we dwell in his presence,
it is very very difficult to harbor hatred in our hearts, God is a God of love
and when we spend time with God, he fills us with his love, we are transformed
in his image, We begin to see our neighbor with the eyes of God, eyes full of
love. If we have problems loving our neighbor, it is because we have NOT
understood or experienced their great love. We can not give what we have not
received.
In the Bible we can see that whoever messes with the People
of God is getting involved with God (Zechariah 2: 8), that whoever persecutes
the People of God is persecuting God (Acts 9: 4). loves and blesses the People
of God, is loving and blessing God (Matthew 25: 35-40).
To walk in love is to walk in the light, to walk in faith, to
walk in blessing, to walk in health, to walk in peace, to walk in victory.
" walk in love, just as the Messiah also loved you and
gave himself for us, offering and sacrifice to God, as a fragrant aroma "
Ephesians 5: 2
" Love is long-suffering, it is kind; love has no envy,
love is not boastful, it is not puffed up; he does not do anything undue, he
does not seek his own, he does not get irritated, he does not hold a grudge; he
does not enjoy injustice, but he enjoys the truth. Everything suffers,
everything believes, expects everything, supports everything. Love never stops
being, but the prophecies will end, and the tongues will cease, and the
knowledge will end "
I Corinthians 13: 4-8
" Therefore, procure the best gifts. But I show you an
even more excellent way "
I Corinthians 12:31
